01 / Overview

The system at a glance.

MateClaw combines multi-agent orchestration, model failover, tools, skills, MCP and ACP connections, knowledge, memory, approvals, auditing, and multiple user surfaces in a Spring Boot deployment. Its architecture emphasizes the operational controls needed to move agent systems beyond a single-user prototype.

02 / Challenge

The engineering problem.

Enterprise agent deployments must coordinate users, workspaces, permissions, sensitive tools, model outages, persistent memory, and many delivery channels.

MateClaw organizes those concerns into one controlled runtime with approval-gated actions, auditability, multi-provider routing, and a consistent capability registry.

03 / System design

How the architecture responds.

A Spring Boot 3.5 server packages the StateGraph-based agent runtime, security, persistence, workflow, tools, and integration layers. A Vue 3 administrative SPA is built into the deployable JAR; Electron supplies a desktop surface, and a separate widget supports embedded web chat. PostgreSQL, MySQL, and H2 options support different deployment profiles.

  1. 01

Configure a workspace, models, and digital employees

  2. 02

Bind tools, skills, MCP, or ACP capabilities

  3. 03

    Run ReAct or Plan-and-Execute workflows

  4. 04

    Gate sensitive actions for approval

  5. 05

Observe audit, health, reasoning, and delivery state

  6. 06

Fail over to the next healthy model provider when needed

04 / Technology

The implementation stack.

A concise, repository-backed view of the primary platforms, protocols, models, and runtime tools.

  • Java 21
  • Spring Boot 3.5
  • Spring AI Alibaba
  • StateGraph
  • MyBatis Plus
  • Flyway
  • PostgreSQL
  • Spring Security
  • Vue 3
  • TypeScript
  • Electron
  • Docker

05 / Highlights

What makes the system notable.

  • Multi-user workspaces and role controls
  • Approval-gated sensitive tool calls
  • Multi-vendor model failover
  • One registry for tools, skills, MCP, and ACP
  • Web, desktop, embedded, IM, and plugin surfaces

06 / Repository evidence

Verifiable signals.

These statements are derived from the project’s current README, source structure, or license—not from NexLoomix client work.

  • The current repository identifies v2.1.0 as the latest stable release.
  • The documented backend uses Spring Boot 3.5 and Spring AI Alibaba 1.1, with Vue 3 and TypeScript on the frontend.
  • A durable run identifier links team objectives, task graphs, worker executions, approvals, synthesis, and deliverables.

07 / NexLoomix perspective

The transferable product lesson.

MateClaw is a useful reference for governed agent products: reliability, identity, approvals, audit trails, and deployment surfaces are first-class system concerns rather than later add-ons.

This interpretation is editorial analysis by NexLoomix. It is intentionally separated from the verified repository evidence above.
