About the Role
NexLoomix is looking for a Senior AI Scientist to research, prototype and productionize intelligent systems that solve real business problems. The role sits between applied research and product engineering and requires someone capable of turning emerging AI techniques into reliable, scalable products.
What you’ll work on
- Design and develop applied AI and machine learning systems.
- Research emerging techniques in generative AI and machine learning.
- Build and evaluate LLM-based systems and AI agents.
- Design retrieval and RAG architectures where appropriate.
- Develop experimentation and evaluation pipelines.
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Optimize model quality, latency and cost.
- Move prototypes into production environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers and product designers.
- Define technical direction for AI-driven products.
- Document experiments, decisions and findings.
- Mentor engineers working on AI-related systems.
Required Qualifications
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
- Practical experience building AI and machine learning systems.
- Experience with modern LLM architectures and APIs.
- Understanding of embeddings, vector databases and retrieval systems.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or an equivalent framework.
- Experience evaluating models and AI systems.
- Familiarity with production APIs and backend systems.
- Understanding of data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and experimentation skills.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with agentic AI systems.
- Experience fine-tuning or adapting language models.
- Experience with computer vision.
- Experience with MLOps.
- Docker and cloud deployment experience.
- Research publications or a strong applied research portfolio.
- Experience building commercial AI products.
- Familiarity with AI safety and evaluation techniques.
Experience
3+ years of relevant professional or research experience
